Fresher Under Pressure 215L ULTRA
The Fresher Under Pressure 215L ULTRA is designed for high throughput in large-volume plant operations. With 87,000 psi pressure to target Listeria, Salmonella and E. coli, the 215L ULTRA helps ready-to-eat meat processors achieve FSIS's Alternative 1 status. The 215L achieves the most space efficient layout of equipment by placing the pump and other supporting mechanical equipment at a sub-level below that of the vessel operator. This minimizes overall plant space requirement and facilitates rapid product cycles since the system does not have to be drain at the end of every cycle. The majority of our product applications involve post-packaging systems, but we can provide units designed for pump-able products such as juices and smoothies. Our patented, semi-continuous concept is compatible with in-line production methods. This semi-continuous method uses a device called an isolator.
Inside the pressure isolator, a separator partitions the food from the pressurized water source. Under computer control, food is sequentially pumped into each isolator, pressurized with HPP water, held for a short time, then pumped out of the isolator into a clean or aseptic filling station. Additional isolators provide Increased production rates.
By sequencing these isolators so that one unit is being filled while others are in different stages of operation, the result is a continuous output. The isolator system also provides constant automated monitoring of critical points.
The choice of packaging material for the in-line process is virtually unlimited since filling is performed after pressurization. However, the typical selection would include good barrier properties to protect the higher quality product that HPP provides. For more information, please contact Chief up.
